Jean-Francois Thibeault is a registered professional engineer and certified project management professional with over 25 years of experience in the construction, engineering and asset management industries. He has been frequently retained as an expert in matters of delay, quantum and errors & omissions. J.F. brings over 25 years of experience in the planning, execution and closure of major capital projects, with a focus on energy, mining, water and infrastructure. He has been an executive, director of global operations, "firefighter" and entrepreneur for public and private multinational companies.
Jean Francois’ expertise in the analysis and quantification of construction claims is based on comprehensive hands-on experience, professional training and ability to breakdown complex issues into simple, succinct, and robust analysis.
Specialty areas include troubled project turnaround, claims preparation and negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and project management in complex markets such as transportation, nuclear, power and oil & gas. He has been involved rescuing projects in North America, EMEA and Southeast Asia regions.
J.F has gained an in-depth understanding of contracting business (FIDIC, NEC, Cost+, professional service, etc.) and extensive experience in the management of claims and disputes arising from legacy and troubled projects. He led numerous claim processes and over fifteen (15) major dispute resolution processes, most of which were settled amicably and others in DAB (South Africa), International Arbitration (ICC Switzerland) or Court Litigation (Canada). His good faith approach has greatly helped rebuild the bridges between project teams and clients for the benefit of all parties.
He has provided guidance to support client’s project teams in post mergers and acquisitions including operational and organizational transformation, project portfolio assessment, cross-functional integration of the business units and divestment of noncore businesses with large contract to be completed.
He has delivered projects for large EPC contractors, oil and gas companies, national water and electricity companies, the World Bank, the Ministry of National Defense, public works, etc.
