Hinkley Point C nuclear power station
Ovivo UK Limited, was awarded a major contract by EDF Energy, to provide the cooling water intake screening system for the new Hinkley Point C nuclear power station with duration is estimated at 5 years. The scope of work includes the design, fabrication, delivery, technical support during the erection and commissioning of the equipment. Once installed, the Drumscreens will be the largest screens of their type in the world. See press release.
Regional desalination plants (9 RO plants)
The EPC contractor was a consortium between an Austrian water treatment contractor and a Chinese civil contractor. The consortium was awarded a design-built-operate contract for 9 desalination plants in the Ouargla region, in Algeria. Project was awarded in 2010, interrupted for about a year by the customer and further delayed for different reasons including the lack of intake water in the boreholes.
Harvest-Power Waste to Energy Plant
The EPC contractor responsible for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of a 2.85 megawatt electrical generation (using methane from biogas) and fertilizer production facility in London Ontario, Canada. The biogas was produced by processing 65,000 tonnes of mixed organic material each year such as market/kitchen waste, fats/oil/grease, etc.
Medupi Power Station
The Medupi Power Station is a coal fired high pressure boiler system designed to produce 4788MW of total power or 798MW from each of its six boiler units. Source water for the boilers will be piped from a raw water reservoir. The EPC contractor is responsible for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the ultra-pure water treatment plant and condensate polishing plants.
RWE coal-fired Power Plant
The project involved the design and installation of a wastewater treatment plant to be able to discharge to a site of special ecological interest. The Project was let in two phases, phase one Design and the second phase was the Plant construction. Subsequent change orders have increased the overall scope and value.
Sea water desalination plants
The Federal Electricity and Water Authorities (FEWA) seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) plants at New Qidfa and Al Zawrah, United Arab Emirates produce respectively 13,650 m3/day and 27,300 m3/day of potable water from Gulf of Oman with energy recovery technologies. The EPC Contractor was awarded a design-built contract in consortium with a local civil contractor for the civil works and building services.
Pan-Pac Pulp and Paper
The EPC Contractor was awarded a FIDIC design-built contract to upgrade the existing wastewater treatment plant to accommodate the two plant operation modes (BCTMP and TMP) and comply with the new environmental regulations. The scope included design, civil, mechanical, electrical works, and all process equipment, testing and commissioning. The biological treatment system mainly consists of a primary dissolved air floatation (DAF) unit, two moving bed bioreactor (MBBR) basins, two activated sludge (AS) plug-flow aeration basins followed by a secondary clarifier.
